Sebum Contamination

A main reason of hair loss is the assortment of micro-pollutants, hair care product residues, and Sebum clogging your hair follicle access. Sebum is a greasy core produced by your skin. Sebum really plays an vital role in the health of your scalp, but overproduction of Sebum caused by stress (this is a major cause of hair loss in women) and a diet high in animal fat creates excess Sebum secretion. When the sebum leaves your underlying scalp layer, it reaches the surface of your scalp and mixes with the grime and hair care product residues.

Because the sebum is present on your scalp and exposed to air, it solidify (oxidizes) and creates a wide, black, tar like stuff. This hardened substance clogs your hair follicle access. The bacterium in this stuff damages the follicle and is one of the key causes of hair loss. (For those of you who do not know, the hair follicles are the millions of little canals in your scalp in which your hair grows from.) After years of this occurring (your whole life), the tar-like material becomes impacted in the follicle. The consequences is impasse of nutrient absorption to the follicle, thus obstruct hair increase. This sort of trouble is a major hair loss cause that can be stopped.

Hormones and DHT

The most damaging develop in hair loss happens next. Your body obviously produces the hormone testosterone. It happens in everybody. When testosterone combines with the Sebum/dirt material that is now impacted in your follicle, it creates a potent substance called DHT. DHT is the actual enemy of hair growth and retention. When formed, DHT causes the follicle to start shutting down, and basically, the follicle dies a slow death. This type of hair loss is commonly known as Androgenetic Alopecia.

Poor Circulation and Stress

Poor circulation in your scalp, due to stress, also causes hair loss. The actuality that the head is the maximum point on your body and the hardest place for your body to supply blood run to is one thing, but a firm scalp due to stress will also constrict your scalp’s blood vessels and cause vital nutrients to not make it to your follicles. Most of us live somewhat stressful lives, but dealing with stress head-on is important. Don’t ignore it. Unfortunately, our products cannot relieve the problems of your life. Stress can be dealt with in several methods, most remarkably through exercise, sufficient sleep, healthy relationships, healthy diet, and ways like relaxation exercises and yoga.

For many, hair loss can cause them to lose their self esteem. They find themselves checking out other people’s hairlines to see if they are as bald as them. For some they buy wigs and hair pieces to try and cover up the condition. There are treatments available for the many different hair loss causes.

There are many different medical conditions that may cause you to lose your hair. Autoimmune disorders, such as alopecia areata, are a major cause of hair loss. With these conditions the immune system gets mixed up and attacks the different part of the body, confusing it for foreign bodies, such as infection. This can even affect the hair. It causes your hair to fall out in patchy sections. This can be treated a number of ways. You can choose creams or your scalp, cortisone injections in the scalp and immune suppressing drugs. Other medical conditions that can cause hair loss are thyroid problems and even diabetes.

Hormones play a major role in hair loss causes. In women especially, hormonal imbalances can cause hair loss.  This can happen at many different times and for many different reasons. The most common times for this to happen are during pregnancy and menopause. Other sources can also cause hormonal imbalances that can cause hair loss as well. Some of these issues are major illness, sustained high fever, major surgery, stress, anxiety, depression and even some medications, including birth control pills. The one upside to having a hair loss problem that is caused by a hormonal imbalance is that once your hormones level out, your hair loss problems should resolve on their own.

Your genes are the most common cause of hair loss. The condition, androgenic alopecia, is a hereditary disorder that causes you to lose your hair. It is known by many other names such as male pattern baldness, female pattern baldness, common baldness and permanent baldness. This condition causes the testosterone in your body to convert to DHT even more in your body. DHT causes your hair follicles to shrink and weaken. This can make them come out sooner than they should and eventually makes them not come back in at all. This type of hair loss, however, has the most treatment options available, from Rogaine, Propecia and even Tricomin Therapy Spray.

There are many other hair loss causes. There are conditions such as trichtillomania, which is a disorder in which one pulls out their hair compulsively. This usually presents itself around the time puberty sets in and can be cured with therapy in most cases. Also causes such as scalp ringworm or folliculitis, an inflammation and infection of hair follicles can also cause hair loss. Knowing what is causing your hair loss is the best way to treat it. If you use a product not formulated for your type of hair loss you will be disappointed, as you will not get the results you are looking for. However, remember that even treatments designed for your type of hair loss will not treat your hair loss overnight, as the hair growth process takes months.

The issue of hair styling causing hair loss has not been taken seriously by many people. Granted many of us want to look beautiful and elegant. We spend a fortune in salons and top up with hair products that we believe will make us appear attractive, sexy, and confident. Losing your hair is not life threatening, but it may seriously dent ones self image especially for females. Everywhere you look, beautiful people are always portrayed by having a lot of hair. You may argue that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder but this doesn’t stop Hollywood from constantly reinforcing in our psyche that we need to have a lot of hair in order to look elegant.

There are many hair styles that may indeed cause hair loss. Of course, one chooses their hairstyle depending on the amount of money they have and their size and shape of their head. Some of the hairstyles that require the application of too many chemicals may actually lead to hair loss. The application of these chemicals may lead to burns which weaken the hair shaft. Actually to achieve the flexibility and softness of your hair the shaft will have to be weakened and hence over time its ability to grow new hair is compromised. The oils may also block the shaft completely thus damaging the scalp and making one to lose considerable amounts of hair.

Another hairstyle that can cause the loss of hair is using tight braids. Braids are beautiful and elegant, and since there are as many braiding styles as are individuals, many people prefer them for making them look unique. However, braids can actually lead to balding. When braiding your hair, grow your hair at least to a certain length so that the hair stylist has enough hair to work with. You should also rebraid after some time. The hair stylist should be experienced so as to give you the best advice concerning how to maintain your hair and avoid hair loss. In addition you should not use braiding for long periods of time as it may greatly fasten the hair loss process. When you start experiencing hair loss due to cornrows or braiding, you can use herbal products such rosemary, margosa, honey, amla, or coconut oil. Minoxidil is the prescription drug that is often used for people who start experiencing thinning in the scalp.

Ponytails can also cause quite a considerable hair loss when not styled properly. Too heavy ponytails exert undue pressure on the scalp and therefore accelerate the frontal hair loss. Take precaution when going to sleep as you might subject the scalp to undue pressure and therefore worsening the hair loss situation. Toppik is preferred by many Hollywood celebrities though it may actually come with its own baggage. The weight of the Toppik fibers may be too much for the scalp to bear and hence accelerate the loss of hair from the scalp. When going to sleep it is important to remove the toppik. Some people may be too much accustomed to Toppik that they may find it hard to remove their Toppik fibers even when they want to sleep.
