Home Remedies for Hair Growth

A lot of people are sceptical about stopping hair loss with home remedies for hair growth. The first thing you need to ask is this. If home remedies can prevent hair loss why are people using chemical treatments to stop them losing their hair?

It is true that just slapping some oil on your head is not going to stop hair loss. I mean it does not matter how desperate you are, it is going to be obvious this will not work. What is also equally obvious is that many people use these chemical treatments because of the power of advertising. Let me explain what this means.

You see adverts on TV, in magazines and all over the internet. You see them so often that when you start to lose your hair the first thing you do is to try these treatments for home remedies for hair growth.

You can use alternative home remedies for hair growth that work just as well and use supplements at a fraction of the price to halt your hair loss in its tracks and stop so without any side effects.

In case you did not know already many prescription treatments do carry side effects. Just type the name of whatever it is into google along with the word side effects. For example type in propecia side effects and see what comes back.

What is causing your hair loss and what can you do?

The most common cause of hair loss is DHT. This is a genetic cause inherited from your parents. Not DHT but the effect it has on your scalp. Now at this point you are probably saying hold on, if it is genetic there is nothing I can do about it. Well that is not true. You can do two things.

The first thing you can do is to take preventive steps by leading a healthy lifestyle. The second thing you can do is to use home remedies for hair growth to stop losing more hair.

The same thing happens to women as well and the reasons are fundamentally the same. DHT will cause hair loss in women but at much lower doses of testosterone produced by DHT that is. Women mostly suffer from diffused hair loss though. This means loss or thinning of hair all over the scalp and not localised thinning like men get.
What can you do to stop this?

The first thing you can do is to use a good shampoo. The last thing you need is a shampoo with lots of chemicals that can cause damage to your hair and scalp. Avoid dyes and other products that can contain high levels of hair and scalp damaging chemicals.

The next thing you need to look at is your hair style. If you pull your hair back in a ponytail or use similar hairstyles that pull on your hair you risk damaging your hair at its roots and stopping it growing.

Can oil help?

Oil can help to keep the scalp moist and healthy it cannot directly prevent hair loss by itself but it can prevent ad dry scalp which can result in dandruff and cause other scalp conditions which can ultimately result in hair loss. There are many different types of oil you can use including coconut oil and olive oil.

Taking vitamins can help do. If you get enough vitamins including vitamins B through to vitamin E you can be sure you are looking after your hair. One of the most important vitamins for your hair is biotin.
What else can I do to Stop DHT?

There are naturally occurring substances such as stinging nettle and Saw Palmetto which can stop DHT causing hair loss. These are effective and can be found in supplement form along with vitamins which together with the other home remedies for hair growth can help you keep a full head of hair.
